Classic Smart Plan is average

Been on Classic Smart for about 2 years. It sits somewhere between the basic and comprehensive options. Hospital cover is good, day-to-day is okay but not great. The Vitality points system is a nice touch but honestly I don't always have time to do the health checks and gym visits to earn them. Decent plan overall, nothing spectacular.

Active Smart for young professionals

I'm 28 and Active Smart fits my needs perfectly. The premium is reasonable for someone my age and the hospital cover is solid. I mainly use it for the odd GP visit and the Vitality gym benefit. Haven't had to claim for anything major yet, but knowing the cover is there is reassuring. The app makes everything easy.

Essential Delta Core works for us

My husband and I are both on Essential Delta Core. The income-based pricing makes it manageable on our salaries. Hospital cover has been tested once — my husband broke his arm playing rugby and the whole thing was sorted without issues. Day-to-day is limited but we budget for that separately.

Classic Delta Saver — you get what you pay for

The Delta plans are the income-based options. My premium is lower because of my salary bracket which helps. Cover is basic — hospital is fine but day-to-day is minimal. Had to go to a network dentist which was a 30-minute drive. It's medical aid though, and that's better than nothing.

KeyCare Start Regional is budget-friendly

For someone on a tight budget, KeyCare Start Regional is a lifesaver. The premiums are very affordable and you still get proper hospital cover. Yes, you're limited to specific hospitals and GPs, but in my area (Pretoria) the options are decent enough. It's not luxury but it's real medical aid cover.
